We are in Mrs. Laha's 3rd-grade class and we have been working on some goals. Our main goal is to get 25 Paws as a class. A Paw is a laminated piece of paper with a paw on it that we use for the Bulldog Way. The Bulldog Way is when you are being respectful, responsible, and safe. How do we get Paws as a class?
- Quietly lining up as a class
- Not blurting (interrupting somebody) as a class
- Doing the right thing at the right time as a class
- Cleaning up the room as a class
- Compliments from other teachers for being quiet in line as a class
- Listening and following directions as a class
It took us about three weeks to get 25 Paws as a class. We had a list of rewards that we could get if we made our goal. There are things on the list like extra recess, class picnic, stuffed animal movie day, or blanket fort and flashlight day. We took a class vote by putting our heads down and raising our hands to select our favorite reward. The winner was...blanket fort and flashlight day.
On the day of the celebration, a lot of students brought blankets and flashlights to school. After we were all settled in, we moved our desks into a "C shape." We put blankets on top of the desks and used our book boxes and books to hold them up. Then, we decorated the inside of the forts with other blankets and we put a blanket on the ground so it would be comfortable. We were able to move the desks to a space we liked. We did our math, reading, and our Holiday Around the World activity in our forts. It was super cool and it was super sad when we had to take our fort apart!
